A strange out of state number shows up on my cell phone. Do I pick up? Luckily I did. On the other end was Redux. They were looking for a photo assistant in the area to help cover a story for People magazine.
When in the studio, I try to aim for an image that you would actually use on Facebook. That may sound kind of an odd thing to aim for, but it is the perfect gauge of whether or not a photograph reflects how you see yourself.
Some couples have such a natural chemistry that taking photographs of them is almost too easy. Danielle & Michael are one of those couples. Had a great time with them this weekend! Click the images below to see them larger.
What an awesome time I had at Chris & Carly’s wedding in Falmouth, Maine at the the Audubon Society on Gilsland Farm. Wild turkeys and animals roamed the apple orchards and open fields as the sun set over the autumn foliage. It sort of felt like a Disney movie in real life. Their color scheme, flowers, and decorations were beautiful. All the best to Chris & Carly and their new life together as husband and wife!
What an amazingly nice and kind couple. I’m lucky enough to have had all amazing clients so far, but working with Laura & Damon was a real joy. Very laid back and content people make my job that much more enjoyable. Thanks guys and all the best!
Hey everyone! I sometimes get questions on how to add framing, matting, change paper type, etc. when purchasing prints on my website. So, I’ve created a quick tutorial that should help make the process effortless for you.
The best thing about growing in any profession is the clarity that comes with time, experience, and endless hours of trial and error. And believe me, I’ve had endless mistakes and ideas that just never worked out. But one of the things I’ve learned over time is that simple is usually the best way to go. For this image, we used gold eye glitter, gold earrings, and sprayed on gold glitter to the back of a black foam core board to use as the background.
Flowerfield in Saint James, NY on Long Island is a gorgeous place for a wedding. Not only are the grounds amazing (bridge over a pond, swans, vineyard, apple orchard, etc.) but the interior reception area is surrounded with live trees, a huge koi pond with a bridge over it, and live plants surrounding the area planted directly into the ground. Very cool. Congratulations to Tony and Jess!
Musician and owner of Hat City Records on Main Street in downtown Danbury, Connecticut, Al-Fatir resides with his producer and partners to cultivate music that ties contemporary rap with sounds reminiscent of past generations. I took a tour of their studio and sat down with Al-Fatir to talk about his life, his music, and his goals for the future.
Weddings near the water are always a lot of fun. This was no exception. Following the ceremony, the couple released doves into the air and rode on a horse and carriage to their reception. How awesome is that? Congrats Michelle and Will and here’s to many happy years together!
This wedding in Newport was one of my defining moments as a wedding photographer. The couple was amazing, the location was perfect, and everything sort of feel together. The image taken above where the couple is walking into the sunset was a very happy accident. We were in between shots and walking to the next location. I happened to look up after grabbing my gear and saw this happen. I’m glad I did! Best wishes to Jessica & Jared!
